Until mid 1995, Alphaville had usually only played at benefit concerts, and
then only one or two songs. The History album
features "Big in Japan" and "Islands" recorded at the Tempodrome in Berlin.
On 26th June 1993, Alphaville played at the Rocktops open-air festival in
Finland before a crowd of 15,000 people.
Also in 1993, Alphaville played in war-torn Lebanon, where they were told that they were the first western band to play there in almost ten years.
In June 1995, and with a significantly different line-up, Alphaville began a series of concerts throughout Europe.
The live band are Marian Gold (vocals), Martin Lister (keyboards, backing vocals),
Christian Marsac (guitars) and Pierson Grange (drums, percussion).
Bernhard Lloyd joined the band for a short time from 1st March 1996. Click
here for more info on the live band.
